Lost Vocal Range? Here’s How The Singing / Straw Is Helping One Singer Build Hers Back

Singer Carrie joined a local church choir recently and is LOVING it so far.

She’s 37.

And has sung her entire life — growing up in an a cappella church, then high school and college choir.

But after being diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis in 2017 and more recently chronic Lyme and Epstein Barr, she’s noticed something painful.

She’s lost a lot of her high range.

She can still hit the notes. But the stamina for singing soprano through multiple songs just isn’t there anymore.

Now her voice “puffs out”. And she’s not sure if it’s from lack of consistent practice, the inflammation from her illnesses, or a bit of both.

What’s beautiful though is how she’s finding JOY in singing as an Alto in her church choir.

The same rich voice type her mom had. Which makes Carrie feel closer to her since losing her to cancer three years ago…

She wrote in the Studio community that she’s staying optimistic.

She’s hoping that being more consistent with her Singing / Straw practice will help rebuild her voice.

And let me tell ya… when I read her post?

My heart SWELLED.

Because this is exactly why so many of you who already own a Singing / Straw keep coming back to it.

Even when life, health, or time gets in the way.

The Singing / Straw isn’t about getting singers to “push harder” for more range or “force” their voice into a high belt. It’s about building a safe, trustworthy foundation so your voice can feel strong and supported again. And more importantly… finding the joy in singing again like Carrie has!

I KNOW.

No matter what your body might be going through at the moment.

Before I could click send, another singer inside our online vocal studio beat me to the punch!

And you know what? Elizabeth’s advice was SPOT ON.

The goal isn’t to rush back to where you were. It’s to meet your voice where it is right now and give it what it needs to feel safe and strong again.

If you’re an existing Singing / Straw owner and you’ve been dealing with lost vocal range, chronic inflammation, or just life getting in the way of consistent practice, you’re not alone.

And you DON’T have to figure it all out by yourself.

That’s exactly why I built the Singing / Straw Studio App.

So you have guided workouts, real demonstrations, and a supportive community of singers who get it, right alongside you.

You can try it free for 7 days here >>>

Carrie, thank you for sharing so openly. I’m so glad you’re here and can’t wait to see you on a livestream soon.

You’ve got this.
